In Arritmia (AKA Guantanamero), Ali wakes up on a deserted beach after a violent storm. Hunted by those who are looking for him, he finds refuge thanks to Ivan and his sister Manuela (Natalia Verbeke), a dancer from Havana who hesitantly accepts this mysterious stranger. While Manuela grows fond of him, Ali is tormented by nightmares that take him back to the horror of the Guantanamo interrogation room. It is unclear whether these memories are actually flashbacks of his imprisonment or simply projections of a tortured soul.
