Beverly Hills, 90210 was a real television revolution in the early 1990s because it combined teen drama with adult themes such as alcohol, drugs, sexuality, and social differences. The series was not an immediate success: the first episodes had modest ratings, but young audiences began to follow it passionately when the summer episodes aired. In the first season, twins Brandon and Brenda Walsh move from Minneapolis to Beverly Hills, entering a world of friendships, first loves, and teenage difficulties. Brandon faces the moral doubts of his integrity, while Brenda discovers her first overwhelming passions. Around them, Dylan, Kelly, Steve, Andrea, and Donna begin to form bonds that will mark the group for years to come. The characters of Brandon and Brenda allowed the audience to identify with the impact of a rich and superficial world like that of Beverly Hills.
