In a tiny Lombard village shrouded in fog, two very different families live: that of the shy postman and trade unionist Casimiro Banotti, with his practical wife Milena (Catherine Spaak) and their two daughters, and that of the nurse Virginia Vismara (Jane Birkin), romantic but marked by her work in the morgue, with her rough husband Michele and their two sons. The lives of the two families end up intertwining in the daily life of the small village.
At the 25-minute mark, Catherine Spaak, sitting on the bed, tries to seduce a man. The actress is wearing a very sensual low-cut slip, but he refuses her offer and goes to sleep. At the 62-minute mark, we see Catherine Spaak naked after she has undressed in front of a man. When they are both naked, they kiss and throw themselves onto a bed. Two minutes later, we find them naked on the bed after a sexual encounter. She is lying on her stomach and grabs some mortadella from a paper bag on the floor, then brings it to her mouth to eat it. The man hands her a flask of wine to drink. Afterwards, the two naked actors eat a dessert in front of the mirror while reading the Kamasutra. Finally, we see them inside a wardrobe, where they have just finished a pose from the book. Elsewhere, Jane Birkin and a man undress with the intention of having sex, but he leaves the room to go to the bathroom. Shortly afterwards, we see Jane Birkin naked, filmed from behind, joining the man in the bathroom.
