Danny Noonan, a young caddy at Bushwood Country Club, hopes to win a scholarship from the strict Judge Smails to finally give his life some direction. The arrival of billionaire Al Czervik triggers tensions with Smails, who also comes into conflict with Danny and the talented Ty Webb, who is determined to help the guy understand his goals. Meanwhile, groundskeeper Carl Spackler wages his own war against a mole that is ravaging the golf course.
