El Retorno de Walpurgis (AKA Curse of the Devil) is the seventh film in the saga of the werewolf Waldemar Daninsky, played by Paul Naschy. This film ignores the events of all the previous films and represents a complete rewriting of his origins, despite the title seeming to place it as a sequel to La Noche de Walpurgis. Produced between Mexico and Spain, it was the last collaboration between Naschy and director Carlos Aured, with creative tensions emerging during this project. As in the previous Dr. Jekyll y el Hombre Lobo, the film is part of the phase of the series in which new variations on the werewolf myth were being experimented with.
An ancient curse cast by Elizabeth Bathory condemns the Daninsky lineage, and centuries later, Count Waldemar falls victim to a gypsy ritual that awakens the werewolf curse. As he tries to maintain control over his dual nature, his life becomes intertwined with that of a family who has just arrived on his estate, creating a tragic bond. When murders bloody the region, Waldemar must face the weight of the destiny imposed by the blood and past of his lineage.
At the 14th minute, Felicidad Nieto walks into a cave wearing a white robe, which she drops to the ground, revealing a full-frontal nude. A man wearing black tights approaches her. The actress kneels down to be taken doggy style. At the twenty-third minute, Inés Morales is naked under the covers, next to a man, and partially shows us her breasts when she hugs him, letting the sheet slip away. At the forty-eighth minute, Maritza Olivares shows us her full-frontal nude when she enters a man’s room holding a candle. He is waiting for her sitting on the bed and when she enters, he gets up to embrace her. At the sixty-second minute, Fabiola Falcón is in bed topless and kissing a man. This sequence is only present in the uncut American version.
