Marie (Vanessa Paradis) has had a difficult childhood ever since her mother, Elisa, took her own life. Raised in an orphanage, she now scrapes by as a petty criminal in Paris. Determined to uncover the truth about her past, she sets out to find her father, the man she holds responsible for her mother’s death.
After the opening credits, Vanessa Paradis enters a room where Clotilde Courau is having sex in bed with a man. The two stop, and Vanessa lies down on the bed next to them. She is wearing a very short slip. She begins to play with the man’s stomach, while Clotilde gets up and gets dressed. At the 83-minute mark, Vanessa Paradis undresses as she walks toward the shore, showing us a beautiful full-frontal nude, then lies on her stomach and talks to a man who is picking something up on the beach. At the 98-minute mark, the actress undresses in front of a lit fireplace, then lies on top of a man who was sleeping on a cot nearby.
