Gli occhi degli altri is loosely based on a real-life Italian news story from the 1970s, the Casati Stampa murder case. Marquis Lelio and Elena (Jasmine Trinca) leave their respective spouses to marry each other, swept up in a passion that leads to obsessive group erotic games. The man’s manipulative control and obsessive jealousy soon plunge Elena into a deep depression. However, she finds happiness again thanks to a new love, and thus decides to remove her husband from her life once and for all.
