Goethe! (AKA Young Goethe in Love) is a biographical film. After failing his law exams, the young aspiring poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is sent to work in a provincial court to get back on track. Here he meets Lotte (Miriam Stein), a lively girl who immediately ignites his enthusiasm. But their feelings are hindered by the fact that she is already promised to another man.
