Hors-saison (AKA Out of Season) tells the story of Mathieu, a well-known Parisian actor who, on the verge of his theater debut, abandons the project and takes refuge in a coastal town to alleviate a deep melancholy. His journey takes him to a spa, where he accidentally runs into Alice (Alba Rohrwacher), an ex-lover who is now a piano teacher living in the same town, with a stable life that includes a family and local routines. The encounter reopens old wounds and buried feelings.
