Human Capital (2019)

Directed by Marc Meyers, Human Capital is based on the novel by Stephen Amidon, which was previously adapted for the big screen in 2013 by Paolo Virzì in the Italian film of the same name. The story intertwines the fates of two families overwhelmed by the consequences of a serious car accident, exploring the tensions surrounding privilege, money, and personal ambition. Through a multi-perspective narrative, the film analyzes the moral repercussions of a society that blindly quantifies the value of human lives. The Italian film marked Matilde Gioli’s nude debut, while the American version marked Maya Hawke’s.
At the 31-minute mark, a man walks into Maya Hawke’s room without knocking and finds her in a bra, in the process of putting on a shirt. At the 40-minute mark, Marisa Tomei kisses a guy. Her robe is open, revealing a black lace bra. Later, we see another shot of Marisa’s cleavage as she lies on a sofa. At the 71-minute mark, Maya Hawke and a guy are sitting on the floor, with their backs against the edge of the bed. Maya stands up and undresses, then puts on a black robe, leaving it open. He stands up to kiss her, and they both fall onto the bed. The open robe reveals the actress’s breasts. At the 77-minute, we see a scene similar to the one at the 31-minute mark. Maya Hawke is only wearing a bra when a man enters without knocking.
