Following genetic experiments, mutant creatures emerge from the ocean and attack a fishing village to copulate with the local women and perpetuate their species. The film is a cult classic among B-movies and blends the ecological horror of Jaws with typical swamp monster atmospheres. The ending also contains an explicit and terrifying homage to the birth scene in Alien, but turns the scene upside down in an even more splatter-filled context.
At the 20-minute mark, Lynn Theel and a guy are kissing while lying in the back of a van. He unbuttons her dress to free her breasts. At the thirty-fourth minute, Lisa Glaser takes off her shirt in a camping tent in front of a guy who is reading. The actress lies down and also takes off her jeans, showing a full-frontal nude. Another spoiler: the monster enters the tent and destroys everything, including the guy. Lisa runs out of the tent and flees totally naked with the monster in pursuit. At the sixty-seventh minute, Linda Shayne is hunted by the monster, who rips off her black bikini top. The girl manages to escape from its clutches.
