Set in Osijek in 1968, Kraljica noci (AKA Queen of the Night) follows a talented young rower chosen as the city’s symbol for the junior cup that Marshal Tito is to inaugurate, while his real obsession remains girls. Between political pressure, a physical disability he hides, and hospitalization, the tension grows even more when his father is arrested on the eve of the race. In this stifling atmosphere, his encounter with a mysterious prostitute, the “queen of the night,” marks a decisive step toward maturity for him.
