Nicolás, a toy inventor, meets the widow Ingrid (Irène Jacob) and her son on a plane, falls in love with them, and they begin a happy life together. Their idyllic love story comes to an abrupt end when Ingrid unexpectedly decides to break off the relationship without explanation. Grieving over the breakup, Nicolás meets Sezar (Bebe Rebolledo), a young Algerian immigrant.
