Frédéric Barbier, a sales assistant in a department store, loses his job after defending a child who has been unfairly accused of shoplifting. Determined to turn his life around, he decides to become a primary school teacher, finding himself catapulted into a lively and difficult class. With no experience, he faces the daily challenges of teaching with irony and tenacity, gradually discovering the educational and human value of his new profession.
