Ennis and Christine (Catalina Sandino Moreno) are a middle-aged couple with five sons. She is a deaf-mute woman who devotes herself to her family. He has dedicated his entire life to the farm and his family. Over time, their relationship begins to fray, and she becomes increasingly withdrawn, distancing herself from her husband and spending less and less time with her sons.
