Mi-in-do (AKA Portrait of a Beauty) tells the story of Shin Yoon-bok (Kim Gyu-ri), a young woman forced by her father to pretend to be a man in order to become a court painter after the death of her brother. Gifted with extraordinary talent, she studies under the famous artist Kim Hong-do, who immediately recognizes her abilities and is fascinated by her. When Shin Yoon-bok falls in love with the mirror seller Kang-mu, Kim’s jealousy leads to a dangerous emotional conflict.
