The mysterious Leland Gaunt arrives in Castle Rock, owner of the Needful Things store, who always seems to fulfill the deepest desires of every customer in exchange for small favors. Those favors turn out to be manipulative acts that fuel tensions and rivalries already latent in the community. As the town descends into chaos, Sheriff Alan Pangborn tries to stop the escalation of violence orchestrated by Gaunt.
