Continuing what was introduced in season eight, season nine tackles the growing pressure of the judicial system and the fragility of human relationships. Sipowicz is increasingly a point of reference, but his gruff character is put to the test by a young detective newly assigned to the district. The pace remains fast, but there is plenty of room for personal development.
The second episode begins in a strip club. The pole dancers excite the patrons. Michelle Ruben throws her panties and flirts with a guy who is intercepted by some cops in a van outside the club. At the beginning of the sixth episode, Garcelle Beauvais strips in front of a man and remains in her lingerie, then kisses him. At the twenty-second minute, a woman enters the bedroom and finds Kira Reed Lorsch in bed with a man. Kira covers herself with the sheet and then gets dressed in a hurry. At the eleventh minute of the twelfth episode, Karen Kondazian opens the door of her house totally naked. Two policemen tell her to put something on, but she just sprinkles a white liquid over her body.
