A group of failed actors and screenwriters work as caterers at a seedy Los Angeles company, serving tables while dreaming of success. Between tacky wedding parties, awkward wake receptions, and cult gatherings, every event becomes an opportunity to fail in style. Tension mounts between Henry, a resigned former comedian, and Casey (Lizzy Caplan), an ambitious actress who refuses to settle for mediocrity.
