A Polish director is in Switzerland with his crew to make Passion, a film based on tableaux vivants inspired by great paintings from art history. Constant technical and production difficulties undermine the work on set, increasing his creative frustration. At the same time, the man finds himself emotionally torn between a shy, stuttering factory worker and the sophisticated owner of the hotel where he is staying.
At the thirty-fourth minute, Myriem Roussel strips totally naked and walks onto a film set, then sits on the edge of a swimming pool. There are other naked actresses on set. At the forty-first minute, we see Myriem Roussel naked again. She is still sitting on the edge of the pool, but this time there are no other actresses. A man and a woman approach Myriem, then she dives into the water. At the seventy-sixth minute, Isabelle Huppert takes off all her clothes, then walks between some large marble columns. Two minutes later, the actress is sitting on the bed, totally naked.
