Predskazaniye is a 1993 Franco-Russian film directed by Eldar Ryazanov, in which the famous French actress Irène Jacob is credited using the Cyrillic transliteration Iren Zhakob. The story follows a middle-aged writer who, after a gypsy’s prophecy, discovers he has only twenty-four hours to live and mysteriously encounters a younger version of himself in his own home. During this frantic period set against the chaos of post-Soviet Moscow, the man experiences an intense romance with a charming cashier and tries to come to terms with a painful past before his fate is sealed.
