Sei bishôjo figyua den (AKA Legend of the Doll) is the second film in the “Akihabara Trilogy,” following Nekomimi Shōjo Kiki. These three films explore the themes of cosplay and otaku subcultures. In this film, Ryota, a model collector, receives a box from a mysterious shop in Akihabara containing parts of a doll which, once assembled, become the android woman Airu (Yuria Hidaka). As she learns to speak and behave naturally, Airu finds a photo of Ryota’s ex-girlfriend, Yuria (Noriko Kohara). Determined to understand their past, she begins to investigate the feelings and secrets that bind them.
At the 40-minute mark, Yuria Hidaka shows herself in a super-sexy costume to a guy, then goes topless, but with her back turned. A moment later, we see her relaxing in the bathtub, naked but covered in foam. At the fifty-seventh minute, Noriko Kohara and a guy are sitting across from each other and undressing. Shortly after, they hug and have sex. In the sequence, we see both Noriko Kohara and Yuria Hidaka in the guy’s arms.
