Shirley: Visions of Reality (2013)

Shirley: Visions of Reality is a visually stunning film that comes to life through faithful recreations of thirteen famous paintings by the American artist Edward Hopper. The film follows the personal story of the protagonist, Shirley (Stephanie Cumming), an idealistic and nonconformist actress, guiding the viewer through three pivotal decades of American history spanning the 1930s to the 1960s. Through her thoughts and inner reflections, the film intertwines the woman’s artistic and emotional evolution with politics, the Great Depression, World War II, and the civil rights movement.
At the 8-minute mark, Stephanie Cumming dances in her room. She’s wearing a short slip that rides up as she dances, revealing her beautiful, round butt. At the 58-minute mark, the actress is lying in bed wearing the slip. She’s just finished reading a book and rolls onto her side, her butt in plain view. A man sits on the edge of the bed and picks up the book she was reading. At the sixty-four-minute mark, Stephanie wakes up in a dark room, gets out of bed, and goes to open a curtain. We get to admire a beautiful full-frontal nude as light streams into the bedroom, then she leaves the room. In the next scene, Stephanie Cumming naked returns to the room, holding a cigarette in one hand, and looks out the window.
