Although the title seems to suggest otherwise, The First 9 1/2 Weeks has nothing to do with 9 1/2 Weeks. Strangely enough, it appears to be a prequel, but it takes place ten years after the events of the first film. A banker travels to Louisiana to manage the account of a wealthy client. There he meets his charming wife (Clara Bellar), who seduces him, and he gets caught up in the Mardi Gras celebrations. And in disturbing satanic rituals. The experience completely upsets his view of life and success.
