Set in Northern Ireland during the Troubles of the 1970s, Trespasses follows the tormented love affair between Cushla (Lola Petticrew), a young Catholic teacher, and Michael, a married Protestant lawyer who is older than her. Their clandestine relationship challenges the violent sectarian divisions of the time, putting not only their reputations but their very safety at risk.
At the end of the first episode, Lola Petticrew and a guy enter the bedroom kissing and taking off their clothes. Immediately afterwards, the two are having sex on the bed.
