Angelo, unemployed and hopelessly in love with his best friend (Serena Bonanno), lives in debt and precariousness until he discovers that the only job he found has been given to someone else. Upset, he attempts a clumsy robbery that lands him in prison, where he shares a cell with the psychopath Manolo and with the crooked lawyer Romolo. It is with Romolo that a friendship develops, giving the two the idea of starting a new life in Costa Rica after their release from prison.
