In the early 20th century, Carl Jung, a follower of Sigmund Freud’s theories, treats Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley), a young Russian woman suffering from psychological problems. As their bond deepens, Jung’s relationships with Freud, Sabina and his wife Emma become complicated due to personal and philosophical conflicts over psychoanalysis.
