Beyond Re-Animator is the final chapter in a trilogy that began with Re-Animator and continued with Bride of Re-Animator. The mad doctor who resuscitates corpses is in prison. The prison doctor allows him to revive a deceased inmate and clearly the situation gets out of hand and the prison becomes hell.
