Guy de Maupassant narrates the days of the famous French writer in his last years of life. The film also discusses his illness and his increasingly frequent attacks of dementia.
By the tenth minute Miou-Miou is surrounded by women, who soon help her undress. The actress displays full-frontal nude around a festive crowd. The next scene has Miou-Miou naked lying on a boat while a man rows. She is totally naked except for a pair of striped stockings. Eight minutes later the door to a beach cabin opens and inside is Véronique Genest topless getting ready for the sea. Twenty-six minutes later Catherine Frot undresses and proudly shows her body to a man, then gets into bed with him. A few minutes later we witness a beautiful sex sequence with Véronique Genest naked in bed with a man. Later Anne-Marie Philipe is having sex with a man. When the man is finished he gets up and abandons the bed, leaving Anne-Marie Philipe naked behind him. Miou-Miou joins the actress and the girls delight us with a lesbian scene. Forty-six minutes later we are treated to a full-frontal nude of Véronique Genest, who enters a dining room lying on a tray carried by four waiters.
