Il Consiglio d’Egitto is a film based on Leonardo Sciascia’s novel of the same name. It tells the story of the forger Giuseppe Vella, a learned man of the 1700s who made historical forgeries on the history of Islamic Sicily. The film also tells of revolutionary Francesco Paolo Di Blasi, a supporter of a Sicilian Republic, intent on killing the viceroy.
