Ai no korîda (better known as In the Realm of the Senses) is a 1976 film directed by Nagisa Ōshima, inspired by a famous news case from 1930s Japan. Tokyo, 1936: the obsessive relationship between Sada Abe (Eiko Matsuda) and Kichizo Ishida, dominated by sexual pleasure, goes to the extreme, culminating in Kichizo’s death.
