Joan is a six-episode British television series created by Anna Symon for ITV. Sophie Turner plays the real-life character of Joan Hannington, known as “the Godmother” in certain British crime circles. The series, produced by Paul Frift and directed by Richard Laxton, follows Hannington’s transformation: from housewife and mother, to petty criminal, to becoming a diamond thief and criminal mastermind in 1980s London. And also of note is a transformation of Sophie Turner, who makes her nude debut in this series in a brief but intense sex scene.
