Set in Tuscany in 1936, the film follows Giovanni who, during a train journey, reunites with Maria (Maya Sansa), a love he has never forgotten, sparking a brief but intense relationship before he is called up to fight in the Ethiopian War. When Maria sees him with his wife and son, she decides to end the relationship so she will not suffer any more. Years later, at the end of World War II, the two meet again, now changed by their choices and the passage of time.
At the sixth minute, Maya Sansa is lying on the beach. Above her is a man who pulls down her red dress to free her beautiful breasts. The actress is wearing a blonde wig. At the 17th minute, we are back on the beach. This time Maya is a brown-haired woman. She and a man kiss, then lie down on the sand and he lifts her skirt to have sex with her. At the 28th minute, she and the man are in a woods. Maya is sitting on a pile of wood. Once again, he lifts her skirt and has sex with her. Three minutes later, a railway worker is looking at a series of photographs depicting Maya Sansa naked. At the seventy-second minute, a man is bathing in a tub. Maya Sansa sits next to him, wearing a light slip, then gets into the tub and climbs on top of him to have sex.
