On December 12, 1834, during a concert at the court of the Dukes of Parma, Niccolò Paganini thought back on his past life and foresaw a tragic future. While playing, the virtuoso relives his passions, such as money and women, with whom he had turbulent relationships that led to legal problems. He also recalls his relationship with singer Antonia Bianchi (Debora Caprioglio), mother of his son Achille, who Paganini loved deeply. Paganini (AKA Kinski Paganini) is Klaus Kinski’s first directorial film and his last as an actor. Shooting began on September 7, 1987, but Kinski had dreamed of making this film since the 1950s. There is an 82-minute theatrical version of the film and a full-length version as intended by Kinski of 95 minutes.
