At a time when Gothic is giving way to crime films, director Emilio Miraglia merges the two genres and makes this La notte che Evelyn uscì dalla tomba (AKA The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave). A wealthy gentleman, suffering from mental instability, has a particular fondness for entertaining dangerous relationships of a sadomasochistic nature with women who resemble his late spouse. Following a remarriage, the man unwittingly initiates a series of rather unusual and puzzling events.
In the eighth minute, Maria Teresa Toffano rises from a white couch and takes off her shirt, showing her breasts to a man who is in the room with her. In the next scene, the actress wanders topless in a castle dungeon, in a room full of medieval weapons and armor. A minute later, Paola Natale is running through a park totally naked.
