In the present day, six former roommates reunite after the mysterious death of one of their companions and find themselves back in the old London house they once shared. The story of the miniseries White Heat unfolds mainly in flashbacks over six episodes set between 1965 and 1990, following the lives, loves, and ideologies of a diverse group of students in Tufnell Park. Amid political changes (Thatcher, the Falklands, AIDS) and personal tensions, the series intertwines historical narrative and intimate dramas, revealing the identity of the deceased only in the last episode.
Thirty-six minutes into the first episode, MyAnna Buring takes off all her clothes, smears herself with red paint, then lies down on a large white canvas and paints with her body. Fifty-four minutes in, Claire Foy has sex with a man in bed. Nine minutes into the second episode, Jessica Gunning poses naked for a class of art students. In the nineteenth minute, MyAnna Buring gets up naked from the bed and puts on a sweater. In the forty-first minute, MyAnna Buring, naked, immerses herself in the bathtub. She is filmed from behind, and we see the outline of her breasts.
