Bubù works in a bakery but has decided to resign to be supported by his girlfriend Berta, whom she forces into prostitution. Berta falls in love with a client of hers, the shy student Piero.
After contracting syphilis, Berta ends up in the hospital. Boubù starts stealing to survive but is arrested. When Berta recovers, she can finally dedicate herself to her love for Piero. But there are other obstacles in their love story.
Bubù is not the best film of director Mauro Bolognini, but we appreciate it because he shows us the sensual Ottavia Piccolo naked.
