German producer Regina Ziegler commissioned the first six Erotic Tales in the early 1990s, expecting these half-hour shorts to be distributed to European film festivals and television. Since then, at intervals of a few years, Ziegler has produced other sets of these short films, collecting large television ratings and winning several awards at international festivals.
The Dutch Master is the first of these short films and was first shown at the Telluride festival in 1993. Teresa (Mira Sorvino) is fascinated by a painting on display in the Louvre in Paris and the handsome guy depicted. The girl is so obsessed that she ends up inside the painting. Sasha Veldman has sex with the guy in the painting in the 22nd minute. Mira Sorvino has entered the painting and is observing them. One minute later, the stripper Lost Forever is performing at a bachelor party. There will probably be no wedding, because the bride is Mira Sorvino, who entered the painting again and is now lying on the bed in transparent white lingerie.
