Elia is a gruff, misogynistic farmer who lives alone with his maid in a country farmhouse. One evening Lisa (Ornella Muti) rings at his door. She is a beautiful woman who has broken down with her car during a thunderstorm. She is attracted to him and tries to win him over; he seems disinterested. Through a series of comic and romantic situations, Lisa gradually manages to soften Elia’s character.
