A young Italian student falls in love with an older woman who watches from his classroom window, Giulia (Maruschka Detmers). Her boyfriend was recently jailed for political offenses, and Giulia dates the student. Our story is just beginning because soon we’ll wonder if Giulia was also in bed with the boy’s father, or with the psychiatrist who cares for her.
Devil in the Flesh (but the original title is Diavolo in corpo) is a film by Marco Bellocchio made famous more by an incriminated scene than by the value of the film. This pseudo remake of Le diable au corps by French director Claude Autant-Lara caused a scandal mainly because of an oral sex scene that actress Maruschka Detmers practices for the male protagonist. The scene was darkened and made almost invisible in the cinema and cut to VHS. It was practically the first film to involve a main film actress in a pornographic scene.
In the first hot scene, Maruschka Detmers takes her psychiatrist’s invitation to relax too seriously. The woman strips completely naked and tries to seduce the doctor. The following scene is a long sex scene with the student, very exciting. Later, there is another sex scene, this time on a piano.
We are now facing the infamous oral scene: Maruschka Detmers has her head resting on the lap of her partner. While the two laugh and joke, she unbuttons his pants and starts giving him a blowjob. She laughs and sucks. The sequence lasts a couple of minutes and is extremely erotic.
A few minutes later, Maruschka Detmers walks toward her partner, who is waiting for her on a balcony. The actress delights us with a stunning full-frontal nude, then she puts on a red dressing gown and runs after her partner, who runs away from her. It’s the last nude scene in the film.
