Greta – Haus ohne Männer (AKA Ilsa, the Wicked Warden AKA Wanda, the Wicked Warden AKA Greta la donna bestia) is a “fake sequel” born out of a marketing campaign: originally shot by Jesús Franco as a standalone film, it was renamed and redubbed to fit into the successful series of films that began in 1975 with Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS. In a brutal South American psychiatric hospital, the director (Dyanne Thorne) subjects the patients to extreme physical and psychological torture. A woman decides to voluntarily check herself in to track down her missing sister, only to find herself trapped in a nightmare of experiments and abuse.
At the beginning of the film, in a split-screen sequence, we see a group of nude actresses taking a group shower, while in another room Dyanne Thorne bathes alone in the tub. At the 17-minute mark, two sadistic nurses force Tania Busselier to strip totally naked, then wash her with a jet of water. Two minutes later, the actress enters her room, where there are other patients. Esther Studer opens her gown and shows her a breast with a number branded into it. At the twenty-four-minute mark, Dyanne Thorne and Lina Romay are both naked in the same room. First, Dyanne lies down and Lina gives her a massage; then Lina lies down to have acupuncture needles inserted into her skin. Meanwhile, Esther Studer and Tania Busselier are lying naked on their cots, caressing each other’s bodies. Peggy Markoff, also naked, approaches Tania and talks to her while smoking a cigarette. At the 36-minute mark, several naked actresses are washing themselves in the clinic’s showers. The excitement escalates into a catfight featuring Tania Busselier and Lina Romay. At the 47-minute mark, two guards lead Tania Busselier to her cell and make her lie down on the cot. Peggy Markoff, totally naked, approaches her and lies down on top of her. At the 67-minute mark, Dyanne Thorne has sex in bed with a man in a room lit by red light.
