Claire (Marlène Jobert) is an interpreter at UNESCO and meets Simon, an oceanographer, thus beginning a great love story. However, the young woman discovers she has breast cancer and must undergo a mastectomy. Based on the autobiographical novel by French writer Françoise Prévost, the film tells the story of a woman who chooses to break up with her lover without telling him about her cancer.
At the tenth minute, we see Marlène Jobert naked in the shower. Two minutes later, the actress shows her breasts during a medical examination. At the thirty-ninth minute, Marlène lies down on a bed for another medical examination. The actress’s dress is pulled down to reveal her bare breasts. At the forty-eighth minute, there is yet another breast-baring examination in a very brief scene. Marlène Jobert also goes to the doctor at the fifty-first minute. The doctor marks her breasts with a black pencil. At the fifty-sixth minute, Marlène Jobert shows us her full-frontal nude lying in a bathtub.
