La Certosa di Parma is a two-part Italian television miniseries based on Stendhal’s novel of the same name. Fabrizio del Dongo is a nobleman who runs away from home to join Napoleon’s troops. The young and idealistic Fabrizio will experience a variety of vicissitudes, culminating in a spiritual retreat in the Chartreuse of Parma. There is also room for love in this story, with the beautiful Clelia, played by Alessandra Mastronardi.
