L’amica geniale (AKA My Brilliant Friend) is an Italian-US television series and is a transposition of the series of novels of the same name by Elena Ferrante. The series tells of the special bond that unites Elena “Lenù” Greco and Raffaella “Lila” Cerullo, who grew up in a poor neighborhood in Naples, over the course of sixty years. Elena (played in season four by Alba Rohrwacher) is the author of the story that is told to us over the course of the four seasons. The narrative begins at the moment when her friend disappears.
