Nudometer:
Dr. John Wainright is a former academic turned illusionist. The man claims to be the mesmerist Svengali, reincarnated. John’s publisher, Sir Stephen, reveals him that he is, instead, the reincarnation of the leader of the Bloody Rose Society, a satanic cult. Stephen convinces John to perform the ultimate black ritual: a human sacrifice.
This film was made in 1974 and presented under the title Svengali the Magician in that same year. It’s re-released as Lucifer’s Women in 1977. In 1978, director Al Adamson recovered footage from the film and reworked it into a completely different film entitled Doctor Dracula. Until its release on Blu-ray in 2018, Lucifer’s Women had been considered a lost film.
During the opening credits, the protagonist levitates his assistant Laurie Gross in front of an amazed audience. While the woman is still levitating, the illusionist cuts off her dress, revealing her breasts. Six minutes later, Noel Welch performs a topless dance. After her, Jane Brunel-Cohen takes the stage and delights the audience with a striptease. Back home after the show, Jane gets into bed and relaxes with autoeroticism. Her roommate (Tweed Morris) spies her through the keyhole and caresses herself aroused. A minute later they are both in bed for a lesbian scene. Tweed practices oral sex on Jane. Ten minutes later there is a new topless performance by Noel Welch. Thirteen minutes later, Jane Brunel-Cohen is in the mirror highlighting her nipples with lipstick. Soon after, the actress is involved in a threesome with Tweed Morris and a man.
