In the long line of Italian Christmas comedies that began with Vacanze di Natale in 1983, Merry Christmas arrived in 2001. The previous chapter was Vacanze di Natale 2000. The film takes place mainly in a luxurious hotel in Amsterdam and tells three separate stories. During the Christmas vacations, pilot Fabio Trivellone tries to manage his two families in Amsterdam without them discovering his double-dealing, but everything becomes complicated with the arrival of a third companion. Meanwhile, entrepreneur Enrico Carli tries to sabotage his future son-in-law, but ends up in trouble himself, while two funeral directors embark on a hilarious adventure in search of a cinerary urn.
