Morvern Callar (Samantha Morton) is a 21-year-old young woman who lives in a small port on the west coast of Scotland. She works in a supermarket and believes that in life you have to make do and accept what comes along. One morning, reality hits her hard: she finds her partner dead on the kitchen floor, having committed suicide. He left a message on his computer, his credit card, and, on a floppy disk, a newly completed unpublished novel.
