Soviet poet Andrei Gorčakov is in Italy to write a biography of an 18th-century Russian composer. He is accompanied by Eugenia (Domiziana Giordano), a restless young interpreter. During a visit to Bagno Vignoni, Gorčakov meets Domenico, a man considered insane for having isolated himself for seven years with his family, waiting for the end of the world. Fascinated by Domenico, Gorčakov goes to see him, and during a conversation, the man asks him to perform a symbolic ritual for him: to cross Bagno Vignoni’s thermal pool with a lit candle.
At the sixty-eighth minute, Domiziana Giordano is leaning against the window sill and turned toward the interior of the house. The actress is talking to a man and opens her robe, offering him her beautiful breasts.
