The film describes the last day of the great Italian director Pier Paolo Pasolini. It begins in the editing room, where Pasolini is finishing Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma (AKA Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom), the first film in a trilogy that will never be completed. And it ends on the beach at Ostia, near Rome, where the director was killed.
