After the trilogy of life – Il Decameron, I racconti di Canterbury and Il fiore delle Mille e una notte – the director Pier Paolo Pasolini was going to start a trilogy of death. The trilogy remained unfinished after the great Italian director was assassinated and the first film – Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma – became the last and the only one.
During the Second World War, a group of libertine fascists closed a group of boys and girls in a majestic villa and subjected them to various sexual depravities.
This cinematographic testament by Pier Paolo Pasolini is a complex work, full of nuances and references (the Marquis De Sade and Dante, to name the two most obvious). Obviously it’s not our task to illustrate the messages that lie behind the scenes, sometimes grotesque, sometimes disturbing. We limit ourselves to giving you the list of the many nude actresses that appear in the film: Olga Andreis, Renata Moar, Giuliana Orlandi, Liana Acquaviva, Susanna Radaelli, Tatiana Mogilansky, Antiniska Nemour, Dorit Henke, Faridah Malik, Elsa De Giorgi, and Ines Pellegrini.
